Editorial Policy and Corrections
People use these calculators to decide how much concrete to order and what a roof will cost, so the arithmetic has to be traceable and the mistakes have to be fixable. This page states who writes and reviews the material, how a page is checked before it publishes, how a reader can get an error corrected, and where the line sits between advertising and editorial content.
Who writes and who reviews
Home Build Calculators is published by MY Dijital Pazarlama Ajansi in Iskenderun, Hatay, Turkiye. Murat Yilmaz, the founder of the agency, writes the calculators and the guides and carries out the editorial review before anything publishes. Every page carries that byline and a last updated date. There is no anonymous contributor pool and no outside agency writes for this site. Background on the publisher is on the about page.
How a page is reviewed before it publishes
A calculator from the tool index is written from a documented source, then tested against a worked example calculated by hand and, where possible, against a real project quantity or a supplier takeoff. Edge cases are checked deliberately: zero and negative inputs, feet entered where inches are expected, very small areas and very steep pitches. A guide is checked for factual accuracy, for statements that are specific to one region, and for anything that reads as professional advice when it should be a referral to a licensed professional. Nothing publishes until that pass is complete. The order of preference for sources, and the full reference list, are on the methodology and sources page.
Update and review dates
Each page shows a last updated date. That date changes only when the content, the formula, the assumptions or the cost data actually changed. Refreshing a date without doing the work is not acceptable here. Calculators tied to code requirements are reviewed after a relevant code cycle, cost figures are gathered again on their own schedule, and the rest of the site is reviewed at least once a year.
How corrections are handled
If a result is wrong, we fix it and we say so. Send the page address, the values you entered, the result you got and the result you expected to bilgi@mydijital.com.tr, or use the routes listed on the contact page. Reports are acknowledged, checked against the original source, and either corrected or answered with the reasoning. Messages are normally answered within two business days.
A substantive correction, meaning one that changes a quantity, a cost, a formula or a statement about a code requirement, is logged in the table below with the date and a short description, and it is noted on the affected page. Typographical and layout fixes are made silently. Entries are never removed from the log after the fact; if a logged correction later turns out to be wrong, a new entry is added rather than the old one being edited away.

Advertising and editorial independence
This site is funded by advertising served through Google AdSense. Advertisements are labeled and never influence calculator results, formulas, recommendations or the ordering of content. Advertisers cannot buy a mention, a placement inside a guide, or a change to a number, and nobody who sells building materials reviews a page before publication. Advertising units are kept visually separate from the calculator and from the article text so a reader can always tell which is which. If a page ever carries a sponsored or affiliate link, that link will be disclosed clearly at the top of the page and it will not affect the calculation shown. The cookies involved in advertising are described in the privacy and cookie policy.
Independence from suppliers
We are not owned by, funded by or in partnership with a building material manufacturer, retailer or contractor network. Where a product or a brand is named, it is named because its published data sheet is the source of a coverage figure, and naming it is not an endorsement. The limits of every published estimate are set out in the disclaimer, and the conditions of use are in the terms of use.
